Лето в самом разгаре, а значит пора отдыха и отпусков продолжается. В прошлый раз мы предложили вашему вниманию план урока на тему At the airport. Предположим, что ваши студенты успешно справились с этим квестом и радостно переместились в теплые края, где их ожидает следующий этап путешествия  - заселение и проживание в отеле. Итак, чтобы и здесь они смогли не ударить в грязь лицом и получить от размещения максимум удовольствия, предлагаем вам план урока на тему “At the hotel”.

 

 

 

WARM-UP

 

Answer the following questions.

 

  • What do these pictures have in common?

  • In what ways are the facilities presented above different?

  • What do you prefer, fancy hotels or youth hostels? Why?

Explain the meanings of the following words in English.

  1. How often do you stay at the hotels while traveling?

  2. What types of hotels and rooms do you usually prefer?

  3. Tell about your last hotel experience. How was it?

  4. What other types of accommodation for travellers do you know? What are the differences between them?

  5. What are capsule hotels? Have you ever stayed at one of these?

  6. Do you usually book a hotel in advance? How do you do it, by phone or online?

  7. What was the coolest hotel you’ve ever stayed at? Why did you like it so much?

  8. What are the typical problems people have to deal with at the hotels? Name at least 5.

  9. What are the absolute must-haves there should be in the room and in the hotel to make you feel home?

  10. What do you know about Couchsurfing? Have you ever tried it?

Now let’s imagine that you have a chance to open your own hotel/hostel/homestay or any other type of accommodation and you have an unlimited budget for it. Use your awesome imagination and tell about it.

 

  • What type of accommodation would it be?

  • What name for it would you choose?

  • Where would you locate it?

  • What would it look like?

  • What amazing features would it have?
