Word formation. Prefixes (упражнения).

Префиксы или приставки - это буква или несколько букв, которые ставятся перед корнем слова и частично изменяют его значение. Например, даже само слово “префикс” начинается с приставки “пре”, которая в основном означает “до” или “перед”.

Во многих английских словах можно встретить приставки греческого и латинского происхождения. Понимание значения самых частоупотребляемых приставок поможет нам догадываться о смысле новых слов, не заглядывая в словарь. И в любом случае, владение приемами словообразования является важным не только, например, для сдачи экзамена, но и для свободного владения языком в целом. Поэтому в этой статье мы подготовили список упражнений на отработку различных приставок в английском языке.

 

1. Make up the opposites of the following words using prefixes.

 

  • …….possible

2. Now put the words from the previous exercise into the right sentences. One word is extra.

6. Correct the mistakes where necessary.

  • Your little boy seems so energetic! - Yes, he’s a hyperactive one. Sometimes I wonder whom he inherited it from.

  • In this test you simply need to subline the correct options.

  • When Martha was 42 she wrote her magnificent antibiography.

  • How many triangles do you see in this picture? - None, I see only circles.
